Meet Andrea Taylor

Andrea TaylorAndrea Taylor was nominated for a spotlight profile in January of 2022.

How long have you been working in PPC?

9 years now.

How did you get started in PPC?

I started in it as a college intern. I did a couple summer internships and then ultimately ended up in television marketing after graduation. I ended up taking an online course in PPC in 2013 and landed my first job in 2014.

If you went to college, what did you study? If not college, do you have any other degrees or certifications?

I have a Bachelor’s in Public Relations and Advertising. Needless to say, I haven’t done much with the PR side of the degree.

What was your first job that involved PPC?

I worked for a website and online marketing services company who offered digital marketing packages to customers. I had a very full plate with regular calls and reporting.

What is your current position and how long have you been in it?

My current title is Outreach Manager but I’m also a co-manager of the Clix Blog, campaign manager and project manager. I have been at Clix for nearly 7 years now!

What kinds of things do you currently handle or manage in PPC?

I’m in Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Facebook every single day. My clients are mostly lead gen, but I hope to get involved in more ecommerce in 2022.

Has your career path had any hiccups or nontraditional aspects that you’d like to share?

I have always enjoyed doing the work in accounts each day. For that reason, I tend to be more on the campaign management side rather than on the client communication side. I have been working from home for my entire 7 years at Clix and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a traditional office.

What are you most proud of in your PPC career?

I’m really proud of the strong, intelligent team I have been able to help build and be a part of at Clix. We all have our areas of expertise and we are really able to better each other with our interests and talents.

What, if anything, do you wish you could “do over” in your PPC career?

I wish someone would have told me to take a basic graphic design class in college. It would be very helpful when looking at ad creative for my clients.

If you could give advice to someone either considering or just starting out in PPC, what would that be?

Stay plugged in. PPC isn’t an industry that you can get training in and be done. We’re constantly adjusting to changes in the channels and learning how to best utilize new features. There is always something new and exciting just around the corner.

Are you interested in speaking opportunities? If so, what topics are your jam?

I haven’t branched out into speaking opportunities, but I think if the right one presented itself, I would be interested. My favorite things are LinkedIn ads and finding success for lead gen accounts in paid social channels.

Where can people find you to connect (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)? Please provide handle or URL for your profile.

Hello incredibly dramatic & over the top Google Ads alert.

One low-performing keyword can HARM MY WHOLE ACCOUNT?

This is a ridiculous alert. What kind of language is that to describe having low CTR keywords in an account?

Still looking for examples of Google Ads Led Forms opening on a Google hosted page that appears to be on the destination host domain.

#ppcchat Does anyone us Lead Form Extensions & have seen the experience change recently? Looking for any documentation. Current experience hijacks the click with display url of domain/form instead of having it as a serp option INSTEAD of clicking to site.
