Creating successful lead generation campaigns is an art. Everyone aims to spend as little as possible while bringing in the highest quality leads. But is that really possible, or just a myth?
Being strategic at every step and defining one clear message is essential. Ideally, each ad should focus on just one angle: one benefit, one opportunity. That “something” that makes us unique as advertisers, that “something” that makes you stand out from your competitors.
In a world full of noise and distractions, it is crucial to capture the consumer’s attention and communicate your message clearly. On Meta, where people scroll fast and ads compete heavily for attention, this becomes even more important. If we present too many benefits at once, people get confused and leave.
In a lead generation campaign, we need to give them a strong reason to stay and an even better reason to share their details with us.
Don’t ask for too much information
People are more cautious than ever about sharing their personal details online. They want control over who has access to their data and how it will be used. I recommend asking only for what is strictly necessary, such as name, last name and email.
Asking for a phone number just to make a promotional call in 2025 feels presumptuous and can easily create privacy concerns.
Use bright colors when possible
Bold and vibrant colors create an instant visual break that forces the eye to stop, even if it is only for a second. That pause is precious in lead generation campaigns because it gives your message the momentum it needs to be seen.
Knowing how to combine and contrast colors is what gives your brand that refined, effortless style. Having a good connection with your graphic design team is key because it gives you the freedom to hopefully try colors that sit outside your usual brand palette (which is exactly the point).
Meta forms vs website conversions
Meta naturally favors native lead forms because they keep users inside the platform. When you send people to an external landing page, Meta sees it as an interruption in the user journey, which is why website conversion campaigns often receive less distribution and higher costs.
However, if you truly have a UX friendly, fast loading landing page that converts well, it is absolutely worth testing both options.
In my experience, Meta’s native forms often outperform website conversions, significantly reducing CPL. I’ve seen costs drop by 30-40% when switching from landing pages to native forms in industries like hospitality and fitness.
The main disadvantage is lead quality: website conversions tend to bring slightly more intentional and higher-intent users.
“Learn more” call to action button for a smoother experience
After years of running these types of campaigns in Europe and Australia, I have consistently seen that using “Learn more” instead of “Book now,” “Download,” or similar CTAs performs better.
There is something in human psychology: people feel less pressure to buy when they click “Learn more,” because sometimes that is all they want, simply to understand your business better. In several campaigns where I switched the CTA from “Book now” or “Sign up” to “Learn more,” form-fill rates increased between 12% and 25%, depending on the industry.
And remember, in lead generation campaigns, our goal is always to remove unnecessary friction and avoid making users feel like we are forcing them into anything.
It’s all about your offer
The truth is that the core of any successful lead generation campaign is having an attractive offer, an irresistible why. A reason people cannot ignore.
Limited time offers usually perform extremely well, and the reason is simple: Limited offer = creates a sense of urgency.
Including a limited offer in a Meta lead generation campaign is not just a commercial hook. It is a psychological trigger that speeds up user decision-making. When people feel that something is limited by time or availability, their brain shifts into “opportunity mode” and the perceived value increases instantly. For example, offers like “No joining fee this week only” or “Free 20-minute consultation for new clients” consistently increase click-through and form-fill rates.
And the most important part: urgency attracts people who are genuinely interested.
