Because we all know how easy it is to miss a great PPC post or thread in any given week, here are the ones I saw this week that I though worth sharing:
- Most US consumers are still not comfortable with biometric payments (Insider Intelligence)
- X is placing ads for brands like the NFL and MLB next to unhinged conspiracy theories about Jewish people and 9/11 (Media Matters)
- The economy’s safety net could soon disappear and send us tumbling into a recession (Insider)
- US holiday sales set for slowest year since 2018 as consumers turn frugal, report says (Reuters)
- New tools to help advertisers this first AI-powered holiday season (Meta)
- Disney starts drafting broadcast TV’s grand finale (Reuters)
- X Continues to Face Regulatory Scrutiny and Legal Challenges, Which Could Slow Progress (Social Media Today)
- Googlers Told to Avoid Words Like ‘Share’ and ‘Bundle,’ US Says (Bloomberg)
- Tech Leaders Meet With U.S. Senators to Discuss AI Regulation (Social Media Today)
- Amazon updates visual search, AR search and more in challenge to Google (TechCrunch)
- In Antitrust Trial, Former Google Employee Details History of Search Deals (The New York Times)
- Holiday Shopping Insights: Keep up with deal-seeking shoppers (Think with Google)
- Twitter is Still Throttling Competitors’ Links—Check for Yourself (The Markup)
Youtube is rolling out changes to ads:
1. Fewer ads, longer time per ad
2. Adding countdown timerHonestly, both are going to make advertisers upset for no reason:
1. Is objectively a good thing. It forces brands to think more holistically & empathetically about the story…

I’ve spent a lot of money on Meta Shops over the last year. I am an evangelist of it, despite the terrible UI and UX and bugginess. I do believe if you’re not utilizing it now in 2023 prior to BFCM you’re kinda leaving money on the table…
Here’s a few best practices to follow…

ok…USA v Google Day One 1am dump. On a positive, I was able to be in-person for every minute. Thrilled as it’s the only way I could capture my 8 pages of notes. I’m going to focus on items of interest I think others might miss starting with 1st witness then work backward. /1

USA v Google Day Two 9:30pm dump. Again, will try to pull out some bullets others may not catch. There will be A LOT more evidence but IMHO DOJ in 48hrs has already established google’s monopoly power, importance of defaults+exclusivity, network effects, scale, and data. /1
